Dr. Silpi Datta is an accomplished R&D leader and scientist with a rich experience in the varied fields of chemistry, biochemistry, and food science and technology. She has done her MSc and PhD in Chemistry from University of Calcutta, Kolkata. Following multiple postdoctoral stints from reputed universities in USA and Germany, she had pursued a career in R&D. A scientist by heart, she has over 13 years' experience in various fields. Currently she is the R&D and regulatory Head of Weikfield Foods Pvt Ltd.



Dr. Yashwanth Radhakrishnan

Dr. Yashwanth Radhakrishnan leads the Food Science & Technology vertical at Corporate Research, ITC Lifesciences and Technology Center (LSTC) at Bangalore for the last decade. He did his Masters in Life Sciences and Ph.D., in Human genetics from Institute of Basic Medical Sciences at Taramani campus, University of Madras. After a brief stint at Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, he did postdoctoral research at University of North Carolina and continued in various positions for about eight years in USA. He recently qualified from University of California, Davis on Consumer and Sensory sciences. He has published about 25 international peer reviewed research articles, more than 75 patents, few book chapters and also reviewer in few science journals. He also manages the academic- industry relationships, technology & innovation scouting, and fosters collaborations for Biosciences division of ITC LSTC.

Mr. Makarand has 25 years of experience in Food Processing Industry across the functions like Operation management, Quality management and Product Development. Mr.Makarand has led Complan Research and development for India and International markets.He is presently working as a General Manager R & D and lead formulation development for the brands like Glucon-D and Sugar free D'lite.

Dr. Sarma MVRK is Postdoctoral fellow at Kemiteknik, Lund University, Sweden; JICA-KIRIN Fellow, NFRI, Tsukuba, Japan.

Areas of research: One of the key application areas of his research includes, processing of starch for production of functional oligosaccharides using enzymes. We have extensively worked on the production of isomalto-oligosaccharides, which are considered as slowly digestible sugars. These emerging oligosaccharides having applications in food and nutraceutical sectors. Research involves in application of mathematical and engineering tools to understand the biological systems.

Publications: 37 International SCI journal articles; 6 Book chapters; 2 patents (filed).

Mr. Badrinath R has 25 plus years of experience in the food industry. Over the course of his career, he has undertaken extensive international market research for beverage & dairy industries. He has worked with US based Beverage Marketing Corporation; Aroq, Zenith International & Landell Mills, (now Canadean) in the UK. Since joining Giract’s team, Badri has been responsible for research in multiple ingredient areas. Badrinath R. is the Founder, CEO of F1rst, India.
